October 11th Fall Fishing!

What a great summer and an even better fall. September weather was warm and mild with little rain and we had some amazing days on the water. October has had good days too but its best to watch the forecast if you can. That's not to say that die hard Fly Fishermen won't be going out looking for the big fat Cutthroat. Seems like the fall brings out some of the really big fish and they havent been caught all season. You can tell buy the way they fight and from their clan fresh look.  We have some great deals on gear at the shop and will have regular hours until Christmas.

Water Conditions:

Water conditions are good for this time of year and recent rains have bumped up the levels. There are still plenty of hazards showing so make sure if you drift you have some expreience on the sticks. Recent rains put a bit of color in the river but it is not affecting the fishing.

Hatches:

Watch for BWO's after a rain or mid day, On warmer days you may get some caddis.

Flies To Use:

#16 and #18 BWO parachute or emergers. Try a cripple for the picky fish. Streamers or nymphs early and late in the day. Try stay on top mid day as that will be the best time for dries.
